Tunage {not a word, but whatev}

So I have this habit of getting addicted to certain artists and songs and listening to them over and over.  Here's what's been kissing my ears as of late . . .

Alex Clare - Too Close

Lindsey Stirling -  Song of the Caged Bird

M83 - Midnight City

Flight Facilities - Crave You

Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks

And my absolute fav . . . and by that, I mean every song he sings . . .

Ed Sheeran - Kiss Me

Hope you found something new to listen to!

Tunes for Tuesday!

I'm a pretty big fan of Ellie Goulding.  Her sound is fun!  This is one of my favorite songs from her.  Enjoy!

Tunes for Tuesday

My whole family is musical.  It's ridiculous.  I can play (or fake my way through) playing about half a dozen instruments, and I'm the least talented one in the bunch.  They're seriously ridiculous.

All of that to say this:  music is and always has been a huge part of life for me.  In starting this new blog, I knew that one of the beautiful things I wanted to share is music, so here is the beginning of a regular installment of "Tunes for Tuesday".

Today's tune:  "In the Bleak Midwinter"

Not only do I love the music, but the lyrics are actually a poem by Christina Rosetti, one of my very favorite poets.  Here is the poem...

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Enough for Him, whom cherubim, worship night and day,
Breastful of milk, and a mangerful of hay;
Enough for Him, whom angels fall before,
The ox and ass and camel which adore.

Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
But His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart.

I hope you enjoy the music as well as the season!
