Pin there, done that: Cheesy Basil Stuffed Chicken

I tried a new recipe tonight that I pinned on Pinterest.

If you're hungry right now - WARNING - come back and read this post after you've had a snack or something. :)

I pinned this chicken recipe a while back.  I was a little intimidated by the "stuffing" concept.  I don't get very fancy in the kitchen.  Today I decided I was going to try it though, and it was so yummy!  I didn't have any mozzarella on hand, so I used parmesan instead and it was still delicious.  Here are some pics to document my adventure in the kitchen!

From Hot Mess to Hot Stuff!

I'm embarrassed to even show the "before" pictures, but my dresser has been in desperate need of a makeover for months.  Simply put, it was a hot mess!  We moved not too long ago, and in the moving process my necklace "tree" broke a branch, leaving many of my necklaces w/o a home.  My bracelets were buried in a little basket, and things....well... kept piling up for no good reason.  Here's the "before" shot:

The wall was also bare, which for me is pretty depressing . . .

I saw on another blog where a woman took a paper towel holder and turned into a jewelry organizer.  That was my inspiration for this project.  I bought one from Walmart for $2 and added some black spray paint for good measure.  This is what I used to organize my bracelets so I can easily find them in a glance.

I also hung a small towel rack from Ikea for most of my necklaces, and here's the finished look!

I love my earring organizer.  It's the one thing I didn't need to change.

It's SO much more fun {not to mention easier} to accessorize now!  I find myself getting excited again about picking out stuff to match my outfits.  Best part?  It was such an easy fix!

Boy or Girl?

So people these days are getting super creative in how they reveal the sex of their unborn child.  One of my favorite blogs to read is bohobabybump, written by a fun & creative girl named Jess.  Her husband is a filmmaker, so that pretty much explains why this video is so awesome.  I love coffee shops, so this instantly became my favorite "reveal" video when I saw it on her blog not too long ago.  Enjoy!

Frilly & Flirty:: The Twist!

So I saw this the other day and decided I had to try it ...

My hair is a little shorter, and quite fine, so I secured it with a few bobby pins and some really cute pins with rhinestones on the ends.  All in all, I loved it, and it only took 5 minutes to do!  Check it out ...

The only thing that needs work is hiding the clear band, but I obviously didn't care that much.  Do you have a favorite hairstyle you've found online or on Pinterest?

Tunes for Tuesday!

I'm a pretty big fan of Ellie Goulding.  Her sound is fun!  This is one of my favorite songs from her.  Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day!

I can't wait to see this movie!  I'm a total sucker for Disney.  What about you??

Puppy

I grew up in a family that always had a dog, so I knew that when I got out of college and lived on my own I would have my own dog.  Throughout my childhood we had 2 german shepherds and 1 golden retriever.  The golden, Sandy, was mine.  We got her when I was in the third grade, and I loved her.

In the months leading up to my first summer in my first apartment, I checked almost daily on a website called Petfinder.com to find my own puppy.  I knew I wanted a golden because Sandy had been so wonderful.  She was a rescue dog, so I also knew that I wanted to get my dog from a shelter instead of a breeder.  Romeo came home with me from the Claxton Humane Society when he was 12 weeks old.  He's a golden mixed with a border collie - serious energy!

I remember when I first spotted him.  Talk about fur ball!  My mom thought he was ugly.  She quickly changed her tune the day we picked him up!  He's recently celebrated his 8th birthday.  He's been my body guard, alarm system, friend, and pillow.  Romeo.is.awesome.

He's about 6 months in this picture.
He's a nerd.
He LOVES riding in the car.  His favorite is riding to Savannah for a weekend to hang out with his girlfriend, Lucy (my parents' dog).

Spring Break, baby!

Ok.  So Spring Break was like a month ago, but here's the recap.

We are from Savannah, Georgia.  Savannah, if you haven't already heard me say so, is the best place in the world.  Naturally, any chance we get, we go home to Savannah, so that's exactly what we did for Spring Break this year.

It was a chill trip, but had some great highlights.  We showed up at the tail end of the Savannah Music Festival, so we went to hear Chris Thile.  If you don't recognize his name, he's the mandolin player from Nickel's Creek.  He's ah-mazing.  Sick.

We split our time between my parents and Adam's parents, but for the concert we were actually all there together, which was awesome.  Sadly, I rarely think to get pictures of all of us together.  I need to get better about that.

We hung out with Adam's parents one night and my MIL had pulled out a bunch of old photos.  I love old pictures!  Here are a few I loved.  These are all centered around Adam's grandmother.  She was pretty cheeky.

Her wedding day.

This was in her year book from her last year of high school.  Each senior was recognized, but read carefully the descriptions!
If only students all dressed this well today.  Love the hair!
How cute are these two?? Love the glasses.
Of course, we always spend time at our favorite coffee shop, Gallery Espresso.
Tea for me, please!

Finally, I did a little window shopping downtown.  So many pretty things to look at!
In the south, we believe in large menus and leather fly swatters.  We mean business.

Adam's {current} favorite drink is an Old Fashioned.  A book on bitters made me think of him.
Bottles and letters...

These nose forms were once used to make masquerade masks.

I loved this - there was a bin FULL of vintage jewelry.  This was my favorite bag I found.  It has a pin in it that says, "Perhaps Today".  So cute.

I need a new wreath for our front door.  Let me know if you want to buy this one for me.

If I could pull off sailor shorts, these would be it.  Blue or orange?

We also had a delicious dinner at Sol.  I need to get better about taking pictures with the people I'm actually with.  Next time!
